Since graduating from the Villanova University School of Law, Mr. Bodell has practiced exclusively in the area of casualty litigation and related matters. His practice has increasingly emphasized complex civil litigation, including professional, products, civil rights and medical device litigation.

Mr. Bodell is active in several professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, a state-wide association of defense trial attorneys and insurance claims executives, serving as President in 1991-1992. He received the Exceptional Performance Citation in 1992 from the Defense Research Institute for having supported and improved the standards and education of the Defense Bar, and for having contributed to the improvement of the administration of justice in the public interest. Mr. Bodell is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations as well as the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Bodell's interests include sailing and biking.
