CONSTRUCTION PRACTICE

The BODELL, BOVÉ, GRACE & VAN HORN construction practice represents developers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and construction product manufactures, and retailers. Projects with which the group has had experience include residential developments, commercial buildings, governmental buildings, airports, bridges, and jails. The group has experience in all aspects of construction - related litigation including design and construction defects, business interruption, earth movement claims, job site injury claims, and building product claims.

In recognition of the fact that construction litigation can be protracted and expensive, BODELL, BOVÉ, GRACE & VAN HORN is dedicated to providing cost - effective services to our clients. The Firm is a strong proponent of alternative dispute resolution, where appropriate, and members of the construction practice have served as arbitrators, mediators and special masters in a number of matters. The group is also actively involved in construction dispute avoidance counseling on behalf of clients. This involves the review and negotiation of contracts and indemnification clauses in order to minimize risk, as well as negotiation and resolution of dispute to prevent litigation.

The construction practice has extensive trial and arbitration experience in both State and Federal Courts and before the American Arbitration Association and other Arbitration forums. Consistent with the group's emphasis on cost-efficiency, each client's goals are carefully reviewed, and a litigation plan prepared and budgeted as requested by the client. Specific litigation strategies are developed after the client's goals are considered, and the most efficient and cost affective manner of achieving the goals is determined.
