Jay Kennedy was born in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. He was raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania. While at Villanova, Mr. Kennedy was a 4 year starter and 1998 Captain of the Villanova tennis team. While in law school, he served two terms as the Student Bar Association Executive Board Treasurer from 1999-2001. Prior to law school, Mr. Kennedy was an Assistant Tennis Professional at Aronimink and Llanerch Country Clubs. His interests include all sports, live music and the New Jersey and Delaware beaches.

Mr. Kennedy is admitted to practice in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Courts, the USDC for Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the USDC for the District of New Jersey. In both 2007 and 2008, he was selected as a Pennsylvania SuperLawyers "Rising Star" by Law & Politics as published in Philadelphia Magazine. He has successfully litigated issues before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. In 2009, he was reappointed to serve on the University School of Law Alumni Counsel (term expires 2011). He also seves on the Board of Overseers Career Development Committee for the Widener University School of Law. Presently Mr. Kennedy’s practice has focused on defending corporate and public entity clients in a variety of legal matters including products liability, premises liability, construction defect and construction casualty claims, breach of contract, motor vehicle, school district liability, intentional torts, and wrongful death matters.
