Ms. Schilgen was raised in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. She attended Villanova University where she graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Criminal Justice. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. While attending law school, Ms. Schilgen served as a Student Bar Association Executive Board member and participated in the Pennsylvania Criminal Defense Clinic. She worked as a law clerk with Bodell, Bove, Grace & Van Horn for two years prior to graduating from Widener Law in 2010.

Ms. Schilgen is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the State of New Jersey.
