Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Van Horn practiced from 1971 until 1973 with the Penn Central Transportation Company specializing in personal injury claims under the Federal Employers Liability Act. Thereafter, his practice has focused on product liability and construction litigation; and other complex civil litigation. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Van Horn is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Van Horn is an avid skier and also enjoys golf and sailing.
