Profile

Mr. Sherman is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, and is a member of the Bar of the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Leon is an AV (Preeminent) rated attorney.

Leon Sherman concentrates his practice in the fields of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, construction defect litigation, and products liability litigation. He represents insurance companies and corporations that have significant self-insured retention commitments.

As a trial attorney, Leon has had more than 120 jury trials to verdict.  He has acted as chairman of medical issues national coordinating committee for one asbestos defendant regarding asbestos in buildings lawsuits.  He has managed national insurance coverage litigation amounting to $1 billion in total policy coverage limits, and has served on numerous complex case steering committees.  He has served as a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Judiciary Committee.

Leon was a member of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  He is an Adjunct Professor at the Katz Business School of the University of Pittsburgh.  He is also a mediator, certified to serve in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
